False Start is run by me, Meredith Wallace, a recent art school graduate of UCLA. I spent my high school years rocking out to Bikini Kill, eating Hot Pockets, running a distro and making zines. My UCLA years were spent hanging out in darkrooms, making as much photography as possible and dabbling in sculpture and new genres. It was a fantastic and inspiring four years.
Upon graduation, I’ve rediscovered my first love, supporting zines and small press. False Start hopes to take the best of old school cut & paste style zines from punk, feminist and radical circles as well as the best of art zines and comics and distribute them to a wider audience.
